qTest Administrators play a pivotal role at both the instance as well as at the project level, focusing on managing and configuring qTest and the various testing projects within. Based on the level at which Administrators are involved, a key task involves user management, enabling and managing appropriately controlled access. Another key task is related to project configuration, from creating, managing, and cloning projects to defining security rules and test artifact fields in alignment with organizational needs and preferences. They also participate in integration setups, be it with Jira, VersionOne, Rally, Tosca, NeoLoad, LiveCompare, Vera or other ALM integrations. At the project level, Administrators are involved in planning testing activities based on the testing scope and requirements, finalizing testing workflows and other procedures, aiming at keeping a test project running smoothly and delivering the highest testing quality. In this aspect, managing and prioritizing defects is a crucial task of any qTest Administrator.

A qTest Test Administrator is responsible for qTest management, configuration, and customization. Their specific responsibilities include:

User Management

  • Manage user accounts.
  • Define user roles, permissions, and access level.

System configuration

  • Customize qTest platform in alignment with organizational needs, workflows, and testing strategies.
  • Perform integrations with various tools and platforms.

System Maintenance

  • Conduct system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
