The Analyst for Tricentis qTest plays a crucial role in the software testing process, with responsibilities ranging from requirements analysis, test planning, test case development and defect management to report generation. Zooming into the role, the Test Analyst focuses on gathering, analyzing, and defining testing requirements and specifications, ensuring that the testing efforts align with the expected behavior of the System under Test. These requirements serve as a base for designing and executing test cases and test scenarios, which makes up a considerable part of the qTest Analyst’s job. Additionally, qTest Test Analysts participate in test case development and maintenance, with a strong focus on performing manual testing and other test management efforts, such as tracking test results, identifying, and reporting defects, and generating reports. The built-in qTest report generation capability allows Test Analysts to generate standard and custom reports tailored to various reporting needs as defined by and with the stakeholders involved in the testing project. The goal is to reduce release time and centralize release tracking.
